As DFD Treasurer, Samuel represents ASDA on DFD platform. He is core member of DFD board with much drives and passion. His interest in Africa socio-economic development issues with global economic trends is overwhelming. He brings to the board a background from the corporate world. Professionally, he has worked for Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) as Head of IT Finance Risk, Issues & Control, in ABN AMRO Bank as Group Basel II Financial Controller. In various firms such as AMB Property, Sita Aero, Solectron Europe BV, Bluewater Energy Services including ADM Cocoa, Samuel held positions as Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, Financial Accountant and Cash Management Accountant. Samuel holds a degree in Master of Science in Finance & Accounting at London South Bank University and a BA in International Business Management from Business School of Economics -Amsterdam (Hogeschool voor Economics Studies) with various certifications – specialisation in banking and financial products including professional project 
management of Prince2.

DFD Senior Policy Adviser since 2010,  takes charge of research, innovations and special projects for the platform. He studied Sociology-Anthropology in the University of San Carlos –Cebu City and took his Masters in International Relations and Public Policy at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, with a thesis on De-centering the Migration discourse: Migrant agency formation. He then went to take his MSc in Educational Science & Technology on virtual learning design at the Twente University, designing a LCMS for the domestic workers in Amsterdam for development engagement. Coming with a rich NGO background in popular education and work among indigenous communities, he has applied his research skills -- upon arriving in the Netherlands in 1991-- towards studying migrant adaptation, and wrote the white paper on Third World seafarers on board Dutch ships. He has also spearheaded several innovations in projects like port side HIV-Aids education, multi-cultural education in Dutch schools, inter-generational diaspora  projects, economic-educational combinations in Nepal, and diaspora-rural women empowerment projects like Maria 4 MDGs. He now  brings to the platform, his development and theatre skills, research, policy and project design expertise. 


 

Yesuf Gedefaw

Yesuf Gedefaw has been active in The Netherlands since 1991 as an Ethiopian Refugee. Since 1992 actively engaged in diverse capacities within Ethiopian communities in The Netherlands. He is also the founder & treasurer of the Ethiopian Human Rights Counsel in The Netherlands and has been actively involved in building bridges within organisations engaged in Ethiopia & Ethiopian related objectives.
In 2007 Elected as a board member & treasurer of ENNOS; a platform for Ethio-Dutch organisations on international development in The Netherlands representing The Ethiopian communities in The Netherlands.
Since April 2010 board member of DFD representing ENNOS & responsible Office & Office related activities,TLP-HMD project supervisor on behalf of DFD board.
