Conflict-torn areas
Many of DFD member-organizations come from conflict-torn areas and fragile states. FAVON, HIRDA and Sudan Civil Society Forum campaigns for the restoration of law and order as well as advocate for the democratization process in their respective countries of origin.  Organizations like BASUG, Damayan, and Habagat have also organized support for abused migrant workers in the Gulf States through lobbying and sending of petition letters to Embassies and consulates to raise awareness on the plight of migrant workers.

UMDW
United Migrant Domestic Workers (UMDW) on the other hand, focuses on the rights of migrant workers. At the same it works for economic empowerment through financial literacy, savings and investments. UMDW members are recognized as workers by Avbakabo, the largest trade union in the public sector and part of the Federation of the Dutch labor Movement.

Health services
In cooperation with the Doctors for the World, OKIO, and Protestante Diaconie Amsterdam, UMDW is lobbying for access to health services and other workers’ rights. It has also sought membership with the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that aims to promote respect for the human rights of undocumented migrants within Europe.
